Full House star and former Dancing With the Stars contestant Jodie Sweetin‘s tip for Danielle Fishel came as a bit of a surprise to the actress as she gears up for the show’s premiere this week.
On Fishel’s podcast ‘Danielle With The Stars,’ where she discusses all things DWTS, since it was announced she’d be joining the show, she chatted with Sweetin who was a contestant in 2016. The two ’90s icons got to talking about their shared experience with the preparing for the ballroom dance competition show but it wasn’t until the two got to talking about costumes when Sweetin shocked Fishel with an unexpected piece of advice.
“The costumes are really fun but I will warn you do not dance in your costume until dress rehearsal,” she said.
“Which is the day before the show,” the Boy Meets World star assumed.
“No, I mean the day of the show,” Sweetin responded.
“For camera blocking you’re not in your wardrobe?” Fishel asked, surprised.
“No,” Sweetin answered. “Camera blocking you’re not in your wardrobe, at least when we did our season, day of the show [you ‘re in costume] for your dress rehearsal that day, let me tell you it throws things off sometimes.”

“When we did our samba I was used to turning with zero weight on me, I put a beaded dress on that weighed probably 12 pounds and all of the beading is in the hips,” she explained. “That’s another thing you don’t think of, all the sudden once you have that on, things you may be doing in gym clothes, all of the sudden [the costume] makes it a little bit different.”
The two also talked about how wardrobe and songs are picked and kicking nerves before showtime.
