Andy Cohen said he’s been “microdosing” a GLP-1 to manage his food cravings, crediting it with helping him lose weight and improve his health.
“Given that for 20 years I have been asking people about their body regimens and that I’ve been pretty vocal about every time I go on a diet … I do think it would be completely hypocritical not to share that I did this summer lose a good chunk of weight by micro-dosing a GLP-1 all summer,” the Watch What Happens Live host, 57, told producer John Hill on the Tuesday, Sept. 9 episode of Radio Andy.
“I was really unhappy with my weight,” he said, but that wasn’t the only reason he turned to the medication. He explained that he also had additional health concerns like “plaque in my arteries and high blood pressure.”
Although he didn’t specify which GLP-1 he used, Cohen said, “It really helped me with cravings, which I was having a very hard time with, and really forcing myself to be more disciplined with my diet and with working out. I am on a pretty rigorous health journey.”
Along with lifting “heavier weights,” Cohen said his regimen included “no snacking or excess drinking. I am still drinking, but not crazy and perhaps the most importantly, I’m not snacking after the craving [I get] after I drink.”

He shared that he when would film Watch What Happens Live, “I would have a drink, then there’s all these cookies. There’s craft services. It’s pasta night. It’s pizza night. ‘Andy, someone sent you ice cream.’ “ But with the medication, he said “my cravings for all that stuff dissipated.”
Cohen went on to say he feels “great about this decision” but knows he is “privileged to have access to a GLP-1, and I think everybody should through insurance. This is a revolutionary drug.”
Although he’s no longer on the microdose, he said his time on the medication “caused me to reframe my relationship with food because it was s—– before this.”
When Hill remarked that Cohen changed his “attitude” towards GLP-1 medication — he did famously snark that Bravo was airing “The Real Housewives of Ozempic” — Cohen said “part of my attitude about it was about people not talking about it. I was like, ‘Look. It’s obvious.’ “
He shared that he “always planned” to disclose that he took weight-loss medication, explaining, “I feel so strongly that I can’t be the one asking all the personal questions of, specifically, the Housewives. ‘How did you do it? What did you do to your face? How did you do the weight loss?’ And then be the guy who’s suddenly lost 25 lbs. but isn’t mentioning it.”
