After buying scratch-off tickets weekly for 20 years couple wins $1 million lottery prize

SACRAMENTO (WKRC) – Nicholas Gercis and his wife, long-time players of the California Lottery, struck gold with a $1 million win from a 50X The Cash Scratchers ticket. The couple, who have been buying scratch-off tickets every week for 20 years, were enjoying a relaxing day on their patio when they discovered their life-changing prize.

“We buy Scratchers every week, and we started buying these fifty times ones, and it was doing okay for us,” said Gercis. After winning smaller amounts like “$100 and stuff,” the couple was stunned by their massive win. “It was just, like, you know, just what the heck?!” Gercis said, still in disbelief.

The winning ticket was purchased at a 7-Eleven in Eastvale.
